Dazzling Decimals

     Dazzling Decimals

We are learning to add and subtract up to three decimal places. We are learning to convert between fractions, decimals and percentages.

What is 244/1000 as a decimal? 0.244

What is 55/100 as decimal? 0.55

What is 12/1000 as a decimal?  0.012

What is ½ as a decimal?  0.5

What is ¼ as a decimal? 0.25

What is ⅕  as a decimal?0.2

What is ⅛ as a decimal? 0.125

0.45 + 0.42 = 0.87

0.56 + 0.17 = 0.73

0.67 + 0.91 = 1.58

0.555 + 0.014 = 0.569

0.7 - 0.45 = 0.35

0.55 - 0.45 = 0.1

0.76 - 0.29 = 0.47

2.5 - 0.78 = 1.72

1.7 - 0.999 = 0.701

0.934 - 0. 244= 0.69

0.944 - 0. 119 = 0.825

50/100 = 50%

1/10 = 10%

0.4 = 40%

0.05 =5%

0.9 = 90%

Fresh fractions

              Fresh Fractions

We are learning to find fractions of a whole and of a set.

We are learning to add and subtract fractions

What is 1/4 of 4?  4

What is ¼ of 8? 2

What is ⅓ of 6? 3

What is 2/6 of 12? 2

What is ¼ of 20? 4

What is 1/10 of 20 10

What is ⅔ of 30? 20

What is ⅕ of 25? 5

5 of my friends are sharing a large chocolate bar. What fraction of the bar would they get each? 25/25

4 of us are sharing a chocolate cake. What do we cut it up into?

8/8

12 of us are sharing a chocolate cake. What do we cut it up into?

12/12

I have 5/16 of a cake at a birthday party. I keep going back for more and eat another  6/16 of a cake. What fraction of a cake have I eaten altogether?

11/16

I have 10/21 of a cake left over from the party. Then I give 6/21 of a cake to my sisters. What fraction of a cake do I have left over?

5/21

⅓ + ⅔ = 4

¾ + ¾ =2

⅕ + ⅗ = 6

⅘ - ⅗ = 6

5/10 - 1/10 = 6/14

55/60 - 40/60 = 30

12/20 + 17/20 = 11

Have a go at these!

½ + 3/4 = 2

2/6 + ⅔ = 5

⅕ + 2/10 = 10

2/6 + 4/12 = 12

2/5 + 3/15 = 14

1/9 + 1/18 = 18

2/9 + 4/18 = 27

                                     II                                                     II

First ratio at the top we have 2:1 ,which is 2 oranges to 1 green. Next ratio we have               3:1which is 3 red to 1 green. Lastly we have 4:6. 4 yellow's to 6 browns.
